We took a stroll down through the Marina the other night and noticed that the Christmas lights had gone on in Burton Chace Park on the other side of Marina del Rey, CA. It’s a cute park that often holds concerts during the summer. Right on the water, it’s a favorite picnic spot of locals and visitors to Los Angeles hoping to relax and watch the boats head back and forth in the channel.
This year, we got a special surprise. As we walked through the trees glowing with holiday lights, we heard a distinctive barking. Sure enough, when we walked over to the railing, we saw docks filled with barking sea lions. They were so cute! We could almost believe that they were singing Christmas carols to us. Kids and adults alike were super excited. Yes, including us.
The holiday lights come on at around 4 pm until about 10 pm through December 31, 2021. You can park at 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292. Spaces are metered, but there is usually a spot to be found if you go early.
